Liposuction is a revolutionary body contouring
procedure that uses radiofrequency energy converted
from electrical energy to melt the fat cells, while

Radiofrequency Assisted Liposuction (RFAL) procedure
that we offer is painless and can effectively remove
unhealthy and unwanted fat from the face, saddle

excess fat deposits, this new technique can firm and

Innovative
Device to Carry Out the Procedure
Radiofrequency
Assisted Liposuction (RFAL) is carried out
with the
innovative Invasix BodyTite system which
comprises a bipolar radiofrequency hand
piece and a RFAL computer device. The
surgeon inputs the energy to be delivered to
the the fat in watts, the limit of skin
temperature in degrees, and high and low
limits of impedance on a user-friendly touch
screen. Excessive heating of fat and/or
dermis is avoided since all parameters are
controlled in a closed loop system. In this
procedure, the access incisions are only about 3mm which is the diameter
of the internal probe which delivers the
energy. A power-assisted liposuction devices
is utilized to aspirate the liquefied fat.
The
BodyTite procedure, using bipolar radiofrequency
energy, is advantageous in that it can quickly and
precisely control the intensity and direction of
energy to the fat, blood vessels, and dermis. RFAL
has benefits such as speedy treatment, considerably
less tissue trauma, coagulation of blood vessels,
controlled administering of energy, careful
monitoring of skin and the subcutaneous layer, all
of which makes it superior to other liposuction
procedures.

The
BodyTite Radiofrequency Assisted Liposuction
procedure is performed in-office in our
fully-equipped surgical room. The procedure itself
takes 30-45 minutes, depending on the area treated.
Unlike traditional liposuction methods, it offers
advantages in terms of safety and comfort. While
undergoing the treatment, patients feel like they
are getting a hot stone massage. At our center, we

Safety
The use of RFAL (radiofrequency assisted liposuction) results in less trauma
to the surrounding tissue and significantly less bruising, swelling, and
discomfort. The ingenious engineering provides many new safety features,
which allows Dr. Hart to uniformly heat the connective tissue and skin with unprecedented speed, control and safety.
What Does That Mean to You?
40%-50% tightening means amazingly better results
It means we can do more aggressive liposuction on areas where the skin is looser because we know we can cause significant contraction to bring in that loose skin once it is emptied of unwanted fat better for inner thighs, upper arms, loose tummies!
Great for secondary liposuction in areas where you want a little bit more but the skin is loosening
Less bruising = less down time, probably no bruising at one week!
Fat melting is particularly effective in fibrotic areas like men's love handles, gynecomastia (male breasts).
Can be done with local anesthetics, right in the office. In addition
to the local anesthesia, patients are given a valium and pain medication.
How is This Different From Regular Liposuction? Traditional liposuction uses a
cannula to suction out fat cells. BodyTite uses the same motion as
traditional liposuction, but the fat is safely heated (emulsified) which
allows suctioning with greater ease and less trauma to the surrounding
tissues. This controlled heating creates connective tissue and skin
tightening never before available to patients!
How is This Different From SmartLipo? SmartLipo is a laser
assisted liposuction that does show more tightening than traditional
liposuction techniques. This was the real advancement that laser
assisted liposuction taught us. The problem was that the laser fiber
is not an efficient way to heat the underlying tissue and the current
systems do not allow simultaneous aspiration (removal) of the emulsified
fat. This makes the procedure almost twice as long and not nearly as
effective in evenly heating all connective tissue. In early studies
comparing the two techniques, the tightening effect with BodyTite is 2-4
times more effective on SmartLipo, and probably twice as fast.

What is the Recovery Time? Liposuction patients with
the BodyTite technique have significant decrease in bruising, swelling, and
discomfort with a fast recovery. You can be back at work in 2-3 days.
We ask that patients wear a post surgical garment to assist in shaping and
reduce swelling. You will feel sore for the first week, but usually
nothing worse than how a strenuous workout would feel. You will be
able to go about your usual activities, except that we ask that you do not
work out for at least a week.
